Lemlist Activity to WhatsApp Alert
Watches your Lemlist outreach for new lead activity, pulls the full lead record, and pings your sales rep on WhatsApp so hot prospects get a reply within minutes.
Use this templateWhy use it
Your cold email sequences are running, but nobody is watching the Lemlist dashboard in real time. A prospect opens, clicks or replies at 9:40am, and your rep finds out that evening when they finally check the campaign — or the next morning from a digest email. By then the lead has moved on, talked to a competitor, or forgotten who you are. The window where a hot prospect actually wants to talk is measured in minutes, and every hour of silence quietly turns a warm reply into a dead thread.
How it works
- 1Lemlist fires the moment new activity lands on a lead in one of your campaigns — an open, a click, a reply, whatever your sequence records — so the alert starts the second the prospect engages instead of on a schedule.
- 2Lemlist is queried again for that lead's full record, so the alert carries the details the trigger alone doesn't give you: name, company, job title, email, campaign and the custom fields you store on the lead.
- 3A WhatsApp message goes out through WhatsScale to your sales rep's number with the lead's details and what they just did, so they can read it on their phone and reply to the prospect while the interest is still fresh.

Questions
Which kinds of activity will set this off?
Whatever Lemlist reports as new activity on a lead in your campaigns — opens, clicks, replies, bounces, unsubscribes and similar events. If you only want the high-intent ones, add a filter after the trigger so the WhatsApp message is only sent for, say, replies and clicks.
Can it alert more than one rep, or a shared team number?
Yes. The send step targets whichever number you put in it, so you can point it at a team WhatsApp group or duplicate the send step to notify a second rep. For true round-robin routing by campaign or territory you would add a branching step before the send.
Will a chatty prospect flood our WhatsApp with messages?
One message goes out per activity event, so a lead who opens an email five times can generate five alerts. Filtering the trigger down to replies only, or to a single campaign, is the simplest way to keep the volume sane for your rep.
What exactly can the message contain?
Anything on the lead record that the lookup returns, plus the activity type — so a typical alert reads like the lead's name, company, which campaign they're in and what they just did. You write the message text once and the values are filled in per lead.
Do our reps have to change how they reply to leads?
No. The alert is a heads-up on WhatsApp; the actual reply to the prospect still happens over email in your normal inbox or in Lemlist. Nothing is written back to the campaign by this flow.
