Announce New Shopify Orders on Twitter and Notify the Team on WhatsApp

Turns every incoming store order into a public product shout-out on X/Twitter and an instant internal WhatsApp alert with the order value.

Why use it

Orders land in Shopify all day and nobody outside the admin panel knows about them. Marketing means to post about what's selling but nobody has time to write a tweet, dig up the product name, and hit publish while the momentum is there. Meanwhile the fulfilment and sales side only find out about a big-ticket order when someone remembers to check the dashboard, so a high-value purchase can sit unnoticed for hours and nobody gets that small daily proof that the store is actually moving.

How it works

  1. 1The moment a new order is placed in your Shopify store, the flow fires — no polling a dashboard, no waiting for the daily summary email.
  2. 2Shopify is queried again for the full product record behind that order, so you have the real product title and details instead of just a line-item ID.
  3. 3A tweet is composed from those product details and posted to your X/Twitter account, turning the sale into a public shout-out for the item that just sold.
  4. 4A WhatsApp message goes out to your team through WhatsScale with the order details and the order value, so whoever handles fulfilment or sales sees it on their phone straight away.

What it connects

Questions

What happens if an order contains several different products?

The flow looks up the product tied to the order it receives and builds one tweet from it. If you routinely sell large mixed baskets, review the tweet text before going live so it reads sensibly for multi-item orders.

Will customer names or addresses end up in the public tweet?

Only what you put in the tweet template is posted. The default composes around product information, so keep customer-identifying fields out of that text and leave them for the internal WhatsApp alert instead.

Can the WhatsApp alert reach a group or several people at once?

Yes. The alert is sent to whichever WhatsApp destination you configure in the step, so you can point it at a team group chat or duplicate the step for individual recipients.

Do I need a WhatsApp Business API approval before this works?

No. WhatsScale connects a WhatsApp number you already use, so there is no application process or waiting period before the alerts start arriving.

What if I want the WhatsApp alert but not the public tweet?

Delete or disable the tweet step and the rest of the flow still runs. Shopify still triggers on the new order, the product is still fetched, and your team still gets the alert with the order value.

Won't tweeting on every single order flood my timeline?

It can if you have high order volume. Many stores add a condition so only orders above a certain value or from specific collections reach the tweet step, while every order still triggers the internal alert.
