WooCommerce Order to Twitter Announcement and WhatsApp Alert

Announces every new store order on Twitter, pulls the buyer's customer record from WooCommerce, and pings your team on WhatsApp with the order details.

Why use it

Orders land in WooCommerce and nobody outside the admin dashboard knows about it. Someone has to remember to post the "just sold!" buzz on Twitter, and the person who actually packs the box only finds out when they next log in and refresh the orders list. Small stores lose the social proof of a steady stream of sales, and the fulfilment team loses hours between the payment clearing and anyone touching the order. If you sell time-sensitive or made-to-order items, that gap is the difference between a happy review and a refund request.

How it works

  1. 1A new order in your WooCommerce store starts the run the moment it is created, carrying the order number, totals, line items and the buyer's details with it.
  2. 2A tweet goes out from your connected Twitter account announcing the sale, so your feed shows fresh activity without anyone writing a post by hand.
  3. 3WooCommerce is queried again to find the customer record behind the order, so you get their saved name, email and billing details rather than just an order ID.
  4. 4A WhatsApp text message is sent through WhatsScale to your team's number or group with the order details and the customer you just looked up, so whoever packs and ships sees it on their phone straight away.

What it connects

Questions

Will the tweet expose my customer's name or address?

Only if you put those fields in the tweet text. Keep the public post to non-identifying details like the product name or order total, and save the customer information for the private WhatsApp message to your team.

Can the alert go to a WhatsApp group instead of one person?

Yes. Point the send step at a group your number is already a member of, or at a single teammate's number. Swap the destination in that step at any time without touching the rest of the flow.

What happens if a guest checks out without an account?

The customer lookup may come back empty for guest orders, since there is no stored record to find. The WhatsApp alert still goes out, so build your message text to lean on the order's own billing fields where possible.

Does it fire on every order, including failed or pending payments?

It runs when the order is created in WooCommerce, which happens before payment necessarily clears. If you only want paid orders announced, filter on the order status before the tweet step.

Can I change what the tweet actually says?

The tweet text is a normal editable field on the Twitter step. Write your own wording and drop in order values such as product title or total, and keep an eye on length so the post is not rejected.

Do high order volumes cause a problem?

Twitter limits how often an account can post and dislikes repetitive text, so a busy store can hit those limits or look spammy. Consider tweeting only above a certain order value while sending every order to WhatsApp.
